8:45am: Yahoo! Maps
So I live in Amherst, MA, right now, and I've been driving down to Simsbury, CT fairly often looking for houses. So I'm getting to know the area reasonably well, but I still pop addresses into Yahoo Maps to find out where they are. Basically the trip down there involves a couple of steps: First is getting from Amherst to the I-91 (about 7 or 8 miles), which is the main north-south artery through western MA and CT. Second is taking 91 down to approximately the Hartford airport (about 30 miles). Third is getting into Simsbury, which is about 15-20 minutes from the highway.

ALL reasonable routes take the 91 for some distance. So I would expect the driving directions algorithm to go: "ok, this is the fastest and best way to the 91 from your house. Then, depending on which part of Simsbury or Avon you're going to, you get off at exit 38B or 37 or 36 or whatever."

So Yahoo! Maps has given me no fewer than FIVE different ways to get to the 91. Why is this?
