More Academy Awards ?!
Finally saw Sideways last night. Thought it was great. It's hard to compare it to the Aviator, really...a totally different kind of movie. Very surprising that Paul Giamatti wasn't nominated for an Oscar in the "Runner-up to Jamie Foxx" category. Anyway, I thought it was clearly better than Million Dollar Baby, too.

Did you not like M$ Baby? I personally thought it was rather straightforward, but the story was a very classical one. I saw Sideways tonight. Fun moive, but I don't think it ever had a chance for the Oscar: full frontal male nudity.

I actually enjoyed M$ until the ending, which I thought was weak; I didn't really believe Eastwood's dilemma-process. It was fine; I just didn't think it was better than the Aviator, which I thought was very well done.

You're probably right about the Oscar, but I still like to argue about which was the best movie independent of that.

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie too, I thought Sideways was a provocative and fun romp. I saw it with Debbie, my brother Jonathan, and his wife Mindy. Afterward we all had a lot to say about the movie, which was fun too.
