Neither party can say much about their vision when it comes to copyright. From the shift of copyright from explicit to implicit, to steamboat willie laws, to the nonsense you pointed at it appears the whole US political machine either doesn't seem to get it or they just see a slippery slope coated in campaign contributions. Has there been a leader since Thomas Jefferson who seems to understand and take the ethical high side on IP issues?
